We See the Whole Picture. We Treat the Whole You.
Living with autism can be tough on its own—but what happens when anxiety, depression, or ADHD show up too? Life gets heavier. Thoughts can get louder. Everyday tasks can feel like climbing a mountain. At Alter Women’s Trauma Center, we look at the full picture, not just one piece. We know how autism mixes with other struggles, and we create care that works for both. Why choose between treating autism and treating mental health? You deserve both—together, in one place, with one plan.
How We Help
When autism meets another disorder, it can feel confusing. Is it anxiety, or is it sensory overload? Is it depression, or just burnout? That’s why we don’t guess—we listen, we watch, and we build a plan that makes sense. We teach skills, offer therapy, and build calm into daily life. Recovery is steady, simple, and real. We don’t cover up symptoms. We create tools so women can feel safe, confident, and ready for life again.

Our Approach: Clear. Personal. Just for Women.
Autism is never one-size-fits-all, and co-occurring disorders are no different. Some women may feel panic in their bodies. Others may lose focus, shut down, or pull away from the world. That’s why our care is flexible. We adjust in the moment, based on what you need most. Every therapy, every skill, and every group is for you. We don’t force you to fit our program. We shape our program to fit your life and your strength.

Levels of Care for Autism & Co-Occurring Disorders
Autism and co-occurring disorders show up in different ways. Some women need fast help when life feels unsafe. Others need a daily structure to stay steady. Many need flexible support while still handling family, work, or school. That’s why we offer different levels of care. No matter where you are, we match treatment to your needs—so progress feels safe, steady, and built to last.

Crisis Stabilization & Intervention (CSU)
When emotions or thoughts feel out of control, CSU moves fast. This level of care gives women a safe place to breathe, calm down, and find direction. We bring safety first, then set the next steps.
- Women in crisis or unsafe situations
- Those with panic, meltdowns, or dangerous thoughts
- Women needing short-term, urgent care
- 24/7 emotional and medical support
- A calm, protective space
- Short-term therapy and medication help
- A step-down plan for what comes next
Residential Mental Health Treatment (RTC)
RTC means living on site in a safe, structured home. Women get daily therapy, skills training, and steady routines without the stress of outside life. It’s a chance to pause, focus, and grow stronger.
- Women with severe or long-lasting struggles
- Those who need round-the-clock care
- Women whose symptoms disrupt daily life
- 24/7 support and safety
- Daily therapy and group healing
- Skills for balance and calm
- Connection with women who understand
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Consultation
PHP offers full days of treatment but lets women return home at night. It’s perfect for those who need strong daily care while keeping some independence.
- Women stable enough for outpatient care
- Those needing daily structure and therapy
- Women moving down from residential care
- Full days of therapy and groups
- Skills practice for confidence
- Medication support as needed
- Smooth step-down planning
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Consultation
IOP gives structure and support while leaving room for school, work, or family. It’s lighter than PHP but stronger than weekly therapy.
- Women balancing recovery with daily life
- Those needing steady but flexible care
- Women wanting strong support without full-time programs
- Several therapy sessions each week
- Skills practice and relapse prevention
- Group support and peer connection
- Links to community resources
